We are searching for an Engineering Feature Speicalist - Water Tightness to join the group of Cab Analysis. Our team works in different domains with skills in; Aerodynamics, Climate, Durability, NVH and Environment. The team has a great a mix of gender, age and nationality. Features and Simulations are the major parts of our group and we are a support function to the other teams within the Cab Engineering department such as; Exterior, Interior and Cab Body.
The Cab engineering department is responsible for developing new advanced cabs for our future trucks while also continually adapt our current products to different market demands. We work as a global team with the different sites around the globe. Working in this international environment is an exciting challenge, which is placing more and higher demands on our employees.
• Job description
"Feature specialist - water tightness" is a new role within our department so the exact content of the role is not defined. There are possibilities to develop and define the exact content of the role yourself. However, the main parts of the role include definition of requirements and test methods for water tightness as well as evaluation and proposal of technical solutions for water tightness of the truck cabin. The main focus of the job will be at water tightness, but the responsibilities will include other types of tightness as well like, dust, smoke etc.
As this is a new area, you will work quite independently from the others in the team, but there are still some touch points. As Feature specialist you work closely with the design departments and other functions for best water tightness of the truck. You drive initiatives and cooperate with other organizations within and outside of Volvo to bring the feature further.
Main responsibilities
• Lead the water tightness development for new and existing projects
• Define requirements & test methods for water tightness
• Propose and evaluate technical solutions for water tightness
• Develop and maintain state-of-art competence within specialist area

Qualifications
• MSc and/or PhD in Engineering
• Several years of relevant work experience of water tightness and/or sealing
• A high level of spoken and written English
Preferred qualifications
• Experience of water tightness testing and test method
• Experience of sealings
• Experience in automotive area (e.g. Exterior knowledge, Body knowledge, Complete vehicle knowledge etc)
