We are the world's original and largest oat drink company. For over 25 years, we have exclusively focused on developing expertise around oats: a global power crop with inherent properties suited for sustainability and human health. Our commitment to oats has resulted in core technical advancements that enabled us to unlock the breadth of the dairy portfolio, including alternatives to milks, ice cream, yogurt, cooking creams, and spreads. Headquartered in Malmö, Sweden, the Oatly brand is available in more than 20 countries globally.
Why get involved with Oatly, you ask?
Guess what! Our Landskrona site is growing. As more and more people choose to switch to a plant-based diet for the sake of their health and the planet, Oatly is driving this change in the food industry, but that doesn't mean our sustainability ambitions are only related to oats.
So if you think your leadership qualities can help Oatly make the world a more sustainable place, you should definitely keep reading.
That's where you come in:
As the global plant-based revolution is accelerating, our Landskrona plant is expanding to keep up with the demand for our oat milk.
Your mission as the Engineering and Maintenance Manager is to lead the engineering and maintenance functions and engineering processes (including investment- and process development projects) ensuring that machine performance, technical solutions, budgeted targets and investment opportunities are both coordinated and met.
The site is under development as we are growing; and this implies that you will be also responsible to drive the local PMO, initiating pre-studies and classifying project portfolio on site, coordinating with team members in EMEA and also globally.
Reporting to our Site Director you will assess the cost effectiveness and feasibility of manufacturing processes and make and implement recommendations to reduce costs and improve operational performance.
Working collaboratively with the Site Leadership Team, the EMEA Engineering Team and members of the Global Specialist Teams, you will provide a strategically functioning and operationally sound Engineering and Maintenance organization, continuously improving and developing policies, technical processes, procedures and data management.
Of course, you will also need to plan, direct, and coordinate the engineering and maintenance activities facilitating efficient, best practice and safe manufacturing operations across the site.
Other areas you'll be responsible for:
• Developing the current maintenance organization to support a growing, and ever-changing, 24/7/365 production site to ensure preventive and corrective maintenance, including necessary inspections and troubleshooting.
• Driving the improvement of equipment reliability in order to meet KPIs as utilisation rate and other productivity measurements.
You will lead a dedicated engineering team of 10, project leaders and system engineers, and also the maintenance function (16 FTE, headed by the maintenance manager)
This is a perfect challenge for an engineering and maintenance professional with strong leadership experience to get in the game and drive the change towards a more data-driven and proactive engineering and maintenance organization!
Here's the kind of experience, qualities and approach that we're looking for at Oatly:
• We believe you are a senior leader with a solid experience of developing maintenance/engineering/technical organizations within a 24/7 production environment, preferably from the food or process industry.
• You have significant exposure of working within a company having a continuous improvement-based culture paired with robust experience of Lean/Six Sigma/TPM tools and techniques qualification.
• Safety is core in everything you do when it comes to all aspects of work environment as well as food safety. Experience of GMP or other industry regulations is therefore highly valued!
• Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering/Mechanical Production Engineering.
As a leader, you must be able to demonstrate an ability to engage and manage your team, coaching people to be at their best and to find their own solutions whilst creating a safe and inclusive environment.
You have a collaborative spirit, helping your team to visualize goals and follow up on development in projects.
You communicate fluently in both Swedish and English verbally and in written to be able to facilitate collaboration that supports alignment, creativity, and results.
You need to be self-aware and growth-oriented and to understand your own strengths and limitations.
Finally, to be the perfect fit for Oatly, we believe that you have a thirst for knowledge and that you are eager to learn more! You are an improvement driven person with a hands-on approach, even during rapid change.
Your Application
We welcome people from all backgrounds that think sustainability, health and transparency are very important. So send in that CV, and cross your fingers. It will be fun, or at least a good time. Promise!
We look forward to your application no later than Dec 12th, but rather sooner than later!
