Responsibility

Akzo Nobel in Malmö produces paint and coatings for the industrial (B2B), professional and consumer market. The annual volume is 65 million liters, produced in 8 different departments. The site also hosts two distribution centers. The total building area on site is 70 000 m2. Business units as well as Nordic support functions are also located at the site. There are 650 people in total working in Malmö.

As a Site Engineering and Maintenance Manager you will lead an organization consisting of many different functions, supporting the entire site. You are responsible for developing the strategy for your areas in close cooperation with the function of Integrated Supply Chain, to develop and perform efficient maintenance in order to ensure reliability and availability of process equipment and site infrastructure. You are also responsible for managing all technical projects at site with a team of project managers. The organization consists of different specialist which requires a good general technical understanding to be able to coach and lead the organization successfully. The extent of the responsibilities also means a lot of interactions with different stakeholders and involvement in most of the actions at the site.

Responsibilities
In the position as Site Engineering and Maintenance manager you are responsible for areas such as:

Functional Responsibilities and Relation Management
• Develop engineering plans for the site based on strategic agenda and investment plan.
• Support, develop, execute and/or manage engineering projects at the site to meet the proper scope, quality, efficiency, within time and budget, and stakeholder's satisfaction.
• Act as site responsible engineer which means handling the permitting procedures for your area
• Manage a strong relationship with the stakeholders on site including the business unit.
• Build and maintain a network within HSE, ISC, IM project organization and procurement.
• Participate in and lead the development of the local engineering community.
People Management
• Develop all employees' competences and skills within your team and create conditions for participation and engagement.
• Ensure proper staffing, lead, coach, appraise and develop managers, specialists and technicians.
Continuous improvements
• Identify opportunities and implement improvements within Maintenance/Engineering and Site Service.
• Identify opportunities and make suggestions for improvement in manufacturing.

Job requirements/Candidate profile

To be successful in this position you will need at least 5-6 years working experience in engineering. You have a master's degree in engineering or equivalent. You have good planning and organizing skills and you have strong leadership qualifications. You must be able to communicate in English on a professional level, written as spoken. Excellent skills within the Office Package and Excel are required as well as experience from a maintenance system, such as SAP-PM. Experience from Process Industry is an advantage.

You are communicative, able to work cross functionally with a high engagement and with a service minded approach.
