Our Agile Release Train for Autonomous Drive and Pilot Assist develops functions, performs verification and validation and is responsible for the overall safety of these functions. Our autonomous technology will take driving safely to a new level and to make this happen we need talented people on board!
The Autonomous Drive, Verification & Validation and Safety Argumentation team is responsible for securing safe functions for autonomous driving by assessing the "safety by design" of the function and owning and driving the verification strategy across teams and ART:s. We are now looking for an engineer with competence in system safety in the automotive industry.
What will you do?
At Volvo Cars, we have an agile organization. The agile culture provides the tools needed to empower and engage teams to achieve great levels of productivity and quality. In this role you will mainly focus on the responsibilities below:
• Create Autonomous Drive safety argumentation; assessing the "safety by design", and coordinate it across all product levels
• Conduct Hazard Analysis & Risk Assessment (HARA) reviews of our safety function
• Conduct Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) reviews of our safety functions
• Assess the completeness and correctness of Verification and Validation process in layers of product.
• Identify & secure gaps in Verification & Validation tools and environments (e.g., Data, probe source, SIL/HIL)
• Do the safety verification and validation of function
• Develop and employ methods and tools, to verify and validate the function and capabilities (e.g., by using real-world data, simulation models, etc)
• Coordinate, support, and coach other teams to embrace the strategy in their work.
Who you are
You are a self-driven team player with high ambitions. As a person, you are curious, innovative and entrepreneurial. You care about the people around you, and get things done. You have experience of system safety work in the automotive industry, you have worked with ISO26262 and are interested or have experience in other standards in the field, such as Safety Of The Intended Function (ISO 21448) or even knowledgeable in Cyber Security.
If you have experience of conducting safety reviews (HARA, FTA, FMEA, etc.) that is meritorious as well as Functional safety certificates such as TÜV.
We believe that you want to learn continuously and are flexible to broaden your experience to fit the agile way of working. You probably have a M.Sc. degree or higher. Good knowledge in English language both spoken and written, as well as a driver's license (B), is required for the role.
