System and Subsystem Engineer
As a System Engineer you will work closely together with the different project teams in Transport Nordic and the different factories and offices located around the world. You will mainly develop the availability and the reliability of customers? fleet. Propose improvements and modifications to existing fleets as well as coordinating renovation and modernisation projects on behalf of the customer. You will maintain the train sub-system architecture, operational modes and functionalities, observing the external customer as well as internal requirements. You need to consider the transverse requirements; electromagnetic compatibility, acoustics, reliability, etc.
To successfully perform these tasks you will work closely together with the other interacting sub-system experts. In addition, you will participate in technical meetings together with suppliers and the customer to provide support to the relevant projects. You will be based at our headquarter in Stockholm; but you will from time to time be working for all depots and customers located in initially in Sweden but quickly expanding to the complete Nordic region. Train types will cover the complete range from trams to high speed trains.
Responsibilities
The Engineer will mainly focus on organisation and performance of validation tests and type tests on train level both for existing and new equipment on the vehicle. As well as providing test reports and root cause analysis of technical faults on train level of vehicle data together with the rest of the team. You will be part of the development of methods and activities for problem solutions in close cooperation with the engineering team in the factories in Europe. You are an important link in feeding operational data back to design engineering and being able to prioritise what issues those are most important to solve at any given time. As a member of the engineering team you will be the technical interface internally and externally customer and work closely together with our maintenance engineering. You will manage technical performances of the fleet operational and provide return of experience. Reliability monitoring of trains and it's base components will be crucial for our reliability growth program.
Qualifications
You have an engineering background with 5 years or more of experience in the railway industry or with one of the sub-systems in a related industry. You should minimum hold a master degree in mechanical or electrical engineering. As our ideal candidate you have gained first engineering project experiences so far in your career and a certain track record in an internationally challenging environment.
Your ability to interact both with internal as well as external customers is well elaborated. You make sure that the targets will be met in technical as well as commercial terms. You will be based in Stockholm, Sweden, however you will work in an international environment and therefore you need to be fluent in both Swedish and English.
