As of 1 January 2014, Vattenfall operates in two regional businesses. Within Region Nordic, Research & Development is responsible for conducting business driven technical development that creates value for the company and helps realising our strategy. The unit employs approximately 115 people located in Sweden and Denmark.
We are now looking for an innovative and ambitious individual with a background in IT systems development and/or electronics to strengthen our team of dedicated engineers working to develop new technology in the area of near customer solutions, e.g. smart homes, energy management and electrical transportation.

Your responsibilities as R&D Engineer
Responsibilities include leading and participating in development and demonstration projects as well as offering technical support to our business and product developers. You will be involved in initial business case analyses for new customer-oriented products and services, and in developing functional requirements and technical solutions for their realisation.
Your qualifications and personal skills as R&D Engineer
Necessary qualifications are; experience of systems development/systems architecture, knowledge of electrical circuits and various communication technologies and protocols. Experience of IT security is advantageous.
You hold a university degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics or similar, with a minimum of two years relevant work experience. Experience from the energy and/or telecom industries, as well as from product development, is an advantage. Fluency in English is a prerequisite, a good command of Swedish is desirable.
You are analytical, committed and self-driven with good communication and interpersonal skills. You like to work in teams and create networks. The ideal candidate is able to develop rough ideas and ambitions into concrete and successful projects. A passion for new technology we believe is a necessity for this role.
