Software development that makes a difference.

At Volvo Cars, we are making bold digital visions come true. We aim to lead in the automotive world by creating a digital ecosystem built around making our customers' lives less complicated. Now we are looking for curious, creative people who want to change the world through innovative thinking.

What's in it for you?

The position within the ART ICE Controls is part of Vehicle Propulsion. We in the team, Diesel Combustion and EATS Controls, are responsible for SW and controls in diesel engines. The team develops control strategies and software for related areas. The team's impact on legislated emissions is large and we take large responsibility for making our Diesel engines aligned with emission legislations. We work with a number of different emission technologies such as Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF), Lean NOx Traps (LNT) and Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR). We also develop software to control all kinds of combustion modes, and the torque models related to them, and the strategies for coordinating the different technologies. We use Target Link or Simulink for our models and develop SIL environments for efficient development and testing. We verify our models and strategies in test cells located in our laboratory but also in vehicles.

What you'll do

We look for a dedicated engineer who will strengthen our team. You will work closely with experienced engineers with interesting and challenging tasks. We work in an agile environment where you and your team's cooperation will be a key for success. You will on a daily basis:
* Develop control functions
* Develop software tests and SIL environment
* Support calibration and verification of our models

Do you fit the profile?

We want you to have a M.Sc. in engineering with experience in the relevant tools or long relevant experience of control development. You have previous experience of working in Simulink, Target Link, INCA or other similar programs, as well as working experience in software development processes. Driver's license B is also required. It is an advantage if you are experienced in after treatment systems, specifically Diesel. Experience from modelling and statistical design of experiments are also meritorious.

On a personal level

To succeed in and enjoy this position, you are self-driven with a positive attitude. You can quickly adapt to your new work tasks and are able to plan, conduct, summarize and report your work in a structured and thorough manner. You have a holistic mindset and strong both technical and analytical skills. Further, you like to cooperate with and challenge your colleagues.

How to learn more and apply

Does this sound like your next challenge? Register your application as soon as possible, but no later than 1:st of March 2019.
