Engine Controls SCR Engineer
The group Aftertreatment Control Diesel within the section Engine Control and Calibration is part of Vehicle Propulsion. The group is responsible for application of exhaust aftertreatment control on Diesel engines. We develop and calibrate related software. The group's impact on legislated emissions is large and we take large responsibility for making our Diesel engines aligned with emission legislations. We work with a number of different aftertreatment technologies such as Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF), Lean NOx Traps (LNT) and Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR). A large amount of our work in done in different engine test cells, located in our laboratory, but also in vehicles on site and during expeditions to find extreme climates and altitudes. We use advanced programs for modelling and data processing for best end results.
We look for a dedicated engineer who will strengthen our Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) controls team. You will be responsible for SCR related application on one of our 4 cylinder VED (Volvo Environmental Diesel) engines. You will work in a team, closely with experienced engineers, but have a clear area of responsibility. Your work will be divided between the office, test cell application, emission testing, and vehicle testing that also includes travels on expeditions.
We believe you will excel, if you have experience in powertrain controls and calibration and in diesel aftertreatment control.

* Method development
* Propose software/strategy improvements
Required qualifications
* M.Sc. or B.Sc. in engineering, preferably within Chemical engineering, or long relevant experience of engine controls and calibration
* Experience in aftertreatment systems, specifically Diesel will be an asset
* MATLAB/SIMULINK and INCA experience is meritorious
* Experience of modelling and statistical design of experiments is meritorious
* Fluent in English (written and spoken)
* Driver's license "B", valid in EU
Personal qualities
You should be a self-drive person with positive attitude and holistic mind-set. We are looking for someone who has both, strong technical and analytical skills, as well as be prepared for "hands on" work in order to be able to execute tests. Moreover, there are expeditions to expect on this position and it is much appreciated if you would be willing to travel and attend these tests.
