The Programme Directorate at the European Spallation Source (ESS) in Lund, Sweden, invites applications for a Energy Project Co-ordinator.
Description of directorate/division
ESS is working with an Energy Concept called Responsible, Renewable and Recyclable, meaning that the future ESS is to be energy efficient, use only new, renewable energy sources and recycle its waste heat.

The Energy Division has three types of responsibilities:
1. Systematic management to achieve the ESS energy goals
2. Business development for renewable energy and heat recycling
3. Coordination of energy-related collaboration with industry
The Project Co-ordinator at the Energy Division works with all of these isues and reports to the Head of the Energy Division. The position requires close collaboration with engineers and managers in all other divisions and with central project management and administrative functions.

Description of main responsibilities
The Project Coordinator for the Energy Division is required to ensure timely quality deliveries from the ESS organisation, consultants and collaborators, under the supervision of the Head of the Energy Division. Duties involve creation and maintanance of systematic energy management processes, integration of energy management into overall project management, implementation of energy management initiatives throughout ESS and business development of renewable energy and energy recycling.
ESS is a rapidly growing and changing organisation with high ambitions in the energy area. This position will therefore offer great variety, challenges and growth potential. It will therefore require flexibility and drive from the person in this position.

Qualifications
We think the succesful candidate will have a relevant university degree and 5 years+ work experience. Relevant degrees may be MSc/Master of Engineering in Physics, Chemistry or Mechanical Engineering and/or a Masters level degree in Energy or Environmental Management.
Relevant work experience would be withing energy efficiency, renewable energy, management systems and/or project management.
Experience of working in an international environment is essential.
Excellent oral and written English skills are a prerequisite; knowledge of other European languages would be an advantage.

The European Spallation Source ESS AB will design, build and operate a multi-disciplinary, large-scale research infrastructure based on the world's most powerful neutron source. ESS will provide scientists with unique and powerful neutron scattering instruments for the study of a large range of materials - from polymers and pharmaceuticals to membranes and molecules. The ESS project is partnered by 17 European countries, and hosted by Sweden and Denmark. The ESS will be built in Lund, Sweden, by a collaboration of European scientists and engineers. ESS is planned to produce the first neutrons by 2019. When the facility is in full operation 2025, ESS has around 450 employees.
