Environmental Homologation is part of the Automotive Regulatory Compliance department within Q&CS. Our responsibility is to perform all certification for Powertrain related attributes: exhaust and evaporative emissions, CO2, electric driving range, real driving emissions, diagnostics, noise levels and engine power. The certification is performed with a third party witnessing the tests at Volvo Cars or in an external laboratory. No certification - no sales!
We are looking for you who are interested in broadening your technical experience and getting a thorough insight in the certification process. Along with our engineering colleagues within Research & Development you will help Volvo Cars achieve optimal performance of our products and achieve our sustainability goals. Main Tasks and responsibilities
Your main responsibilities are to become an expert in current certification requirements and to deliver completed certificates. Together with the Automotive Regulations team you will follow and participate in the development of new worldwide emissions regulations from a certification perspective. You will be Volvo Cars representative in negotiations with representatives from international Technical Services and Authorities. It is important to have solid technical competence in order to support our R&D teams with interpretation of requirements as well as planning the certification activities. Currently a great deal is happening in the emissions field worldwide and there are excellent possibilities for professional development for the right person.
Responsibilities
* Obtain and over time develop an in-depth competence in emissions regulations
* Uphold a professional dialogue with authority officials from around the world
* Prepare and lead certification activities within the company and externally
* Create and handle certification documentation
* Support the Research & Development organisation with interpretation and authority support during the development process
Required qualifications
* M.Sc. or B.Sc. in Mechanical engineering or equivalent documented experience
* In-depth knowledge in automotive propulsion system development
* Work experience in engineering development or project management
* Fluent in English
* Driving license

* Able to take lead and drive discussions/negotiations
