We are a team of engineers within EMC Technology area at Vehicle Technology in Gothenburg. We provide world class solutions, tests, and simulations for electromagnetic compatibility in our trucks. What do we do and why do we do that?
We conduct formal test of the electrical system with focus on EMC. Within our scope of responsibility lies the work with development of requirement, development of new test methods, simulations, reviews of supplier test results and in-house testing.
By 2040 the entire sales of Volvo Group vehicle shall be fossil free. As of the increased complexity of our new products and the electrical architecture, there is an increased need of faster feedback and quality assurance within EMC area.
Who are you?
We are looking for a system design and test engineer with focus on electromagnetic compatibility for components and systems who enjoys finding early design faults so that the EMC issues can be avoided early in our projects. With good knowledge of regulations (UN R10), international standards (CISPR, IEC and ISO) and actual component performance you will develop and maintain Volvo trucks.
We are in this together, but it is vital that you are self-driven and thrive in environments that are constantly changing. Expect that we do not have the answers, but we will be happy to find out together with you.
To be successful in this position, we believe you currently work as an EMC engineer, and you have some years' experience within this area.
Typical Activities
* Review supplier and inhouse component designs, testing methods and results
* Develop and participate in in-house EMC testing & simulations
* Conduct EMC complete vehicle testing
* Develop and maintain Volvo requirements and standards
What does it take?
* M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering or recognized equivalent
* Knowledge and experience in EMC design and testing: conductive and radiated emissions vs. immunity
* Hands-on experience of planning and performing EMC testing
* Fluent in written and spoken English
* Experience within electrical HW design is a merit
* Experience of simulation within the electromagnetic domain is a merit
