The Department of Clinical Sciences is part of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU). The department is responsible for education, research and postgraduate training within the subjects anaesthesiology, diagnostic imaging, epidemiology,laboratory animal medicine, surgery, clinical pathology, medicine and reproduction. These subjects cover all animal species.
Duties:
In vitro production of porcine and in some cases also bovine embryos. Development of methodologies and handling of all aspects of the in vitro embryo production including media preparation and freezing of embryos for RNA-analysis. The workhours are dependent on the availability of ovaries from slaughterhouses and may therefore vary.
Qualifications:
Documented experience of in vitro embryo production or other reproductive biotechnology. Good knowledge in aseptic work methodologies and incentive to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) already present.
Great focus will be put on personal qualities. You should be flexible, meticulous, responsible and be able to work both independently and in team. You must have good collaboration skills. The employee must have good skills to communicate in Swedish or English, spoken as well as written.
Specific work experience with in vitro embryo production is considered a highly positive factor. Driver 's license (B) for driving in Sweden is considered a positive factor.
