We are happy to announce that we are now hiring an Embedded SW Engineer to our Diagnostics & Embedded Systems (D&ES) department who has an extensive knowledge in Volvo embedded systems including mechatronics and electronics, and who is ready to take some action.
About Us
Diagnostics & Embedded Systems (D&ES) is a department within the Volvo Bus Parts & Service organization that is responsible for documentation of diagnostics and software distribution for service market. We are now enforcing the organization with employment of an Embedded SW Engineer.
Volvo Bus has during several years been in the forefront of embedded systems and diagnostics. As Embedded SW Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that the end user of the bus always receives the latest working software for all electronic control units (ECU's) when connecting to Volvo Bus for a software update.
The focus is vehicle uptime, repair uptime and quality regarding the delivery of software while also ensuring a time and cost efficient solution for Volvo Bus.
You will work in projects, close together with Product Development, Production Preparation specialists and requirement specialists to develop procedures with main purpose to improve uptime for end customer. You have an engineering education in electrical, computer, mechatronics or equivalent and some years of working experience.
Main Tasks
• Develop and document Software Replacement chains
• Develop and document Conversion kits
• ECU spare part documentation
• Specify aftermarket requirements and demands for software support
• Verify that new SW 's will work with tools and systems for SW download in aftermarket
• Simulations in SW Configurator
• Testing in test rig
• Work close together with Product Development and Production Preparation to develop best practice procedures and systems for SW handling in aftermarket to maximize customer uptime.
• Handling initiatives and pilot studies in the field of SW in cooperation with other parts of VBC
• Develop and share knowledge in documentation for safety, legal and project requirements.
• Synchronize activities with other Volvo brands and represent Volvo Buses in stakeholder meetings concerning SW handling
