The On-Board Telematics (OBT) is a global department within GTT Vehicle Engineering, established to secure connected vehicles supporting the increasing demand for connected services and in-vehicle entertainment functions, within the Volvo Group. Connectivity is a key enabler for fleet management, uptime services and advanced vehicle services as driver assistance and fuel reduction, targeting reduced costs as well as increased revenues. The telematics and entertainment components build a global platform utilized by the brands within the Volvo Group.

The products developed at GTT have a complex functionality, which is divided into a set of independent E2E (End-to-End) functions. When developing the E2E functions at OBT, we strive for a balance between commonality and brand distinction. This requires careful communication and coordination with different stakeholders such as Product Planning, Brand representatives and other Engineering departments.
OBT department develops and verifies embedded systems that integrate with the vehicle electronic architecture and the telematics back office systems. You will join a tight team of highly skilled engineers, well organized with colleagues in US, Brazil and India.

Embedded Software Developer - Focus on continuous integration/deployment (CI/CD)

The mission is to contribute as Software Developer to develop the next generation of Volvo's telematics product (on-board). The main product is an information system in the embedded environment that communicates with the rest of the vehicle systems, and with a back-office system. Product features are Fleet Management, Uptime services, and other connected applications.

We apply an agile approach (Scrum or KanBan) and work with continuous improvements. We expect a Software developer has a good ability in working in teams, is proactive, is creative, shares experiences, has the drive and take responsibility. The CI/CD team possess skills in Embedde SW tool chains, C ++ and pyhton development, software architecture, subsystems verification (Robot Framework) and works with requirements. In the team deliveries everyone in the team is expected to contribute.

We are looking for a SW developer with main focus on continuous integration/deployment and tool chains. The main activities are to develop and continuous improve our build and CI/CD environments of our different telematics software products. Our tool chains consist of Jenkins, Git, Bitbucket, Robot framework/Squish and Artifactory. We practice HIL as well as SIL. Our software products are written in C++, C, Java (Android Stk). You will be part of an agile team of 6-8 engineers.

Requirements for the skills and experience:
• Master's degree in computer science / computer engineering or equivalent education
• Experience in CI/CD development (Jenkins, Git or similar)
• 2-5 years' experience in software development
• Well spoken and written English
