hela Sverige As a member of the QA team at PDS, you will help us deliver the best possible games by testing our Grand Strategy titles in various stages of development. As an Embedded QA Tester for Crusader Kings III, you will be working as part of the development team and provide valuable data and analysis on all aspects of the game.
About the role
Your role would encompass a wide range of QA responsibilities, including but not limited to traditional bug-testing duties, analysing the quality of the game from a player's perspective, feedbacking on game design choices, and assessing the general playability and fun factor of the game. Day-to-day work will involve working closely with outsourced test partners, maintaining bug databases, playtesting and collaborating with the wider team. This will require strong interpersonal skills, particularly as your duties within the team expand.
We value candidates who have a strong work ethic and work well as part of a team, as well as being able to bring new ideas and fresh approaches to our current structure. Attention to detail, an analytical mindset and the willingness to learn multiple facets of game development in order to be a QA-side problem-solver for a range of other disciplines would all be considered important for an ideal candidate.
Having experience with - and enjoying playing - Crusader Kings III will be considered a strong plus for potential candidates, and engagement with the wider Paradox portfolio would also be an asset. We encourage applicants from a range of experiences and backgrounds, even if they might not expressly fit the requirements listed below.
Requirements
Experience working in Quality Assurance, ideally on games or other entertainment software
Experience in or high level of knowledge of the entire game development cycle
Fluent in English (spoken and written)
Experience with bug reporting tools such as Mantis or JIRA
Strong analytical skills in reviewing all design-related information and interpreting areas of risk in testing
If you have experience playing Paradox Grand Strategy titles it will be considered a strong advantage
Responsibilities
Help create effective strategies around testing all aspects of Crusader Kings III
Help create & maintain test cases in collaboration with the QA Lead
Identify and report issues in our Bug Tracking Database according to internal standards
Assist in managing the Bug Tracking Database to ensure it reflects the most current state of the product
Provide a wide range of feedback to developers around the product at every step in development
Assist in documenting testing processes and general QA reports in collaboration with the QA Lead
Communicate & collaborate with Outsourced QA
Help iterate on and develop existing processes and improve workflows
