We in Advance Engineering and Core Technology (AE&CT) are on an exciting and challenging journey and need to expand our teams. We are now recruiting several System Engineers within different areas of expertise to help drive development and implementation of new and existing technology.
We develop and provide Volvo CE machines with Base EE system platforms used as the foundation and enabler for electronic controlled functions and features to support connectivity, service solutions, autonomous functions, electromobility as well as machine operational functions making Volvo CE machines the best in the world. We are responsible to drive, develop and maintain our Electronic Architecture platform commonly used by all machines within Volvo CE.
System Design engineer - Construction Machine Electronic and Electric (EE) System is a rapidly evolving area with introduction of connectivity, automation and electrification technologies. Therefor we are looking to strengthen our team of Electronic System Engineers, for definition of EE system properties and component characterization. This role will also support the work to secure and implement solutions towards electrical and functional safety requirements. You have a passion for HW and SW engineering then you will be in contact with analogue and digital electronic designs, SoC designs as well as programming languages such as C++, xml, bash, batch, python, and Jenkins.
System Engineer with focus on Functional Safety - We are looking for Electronic System Engineers with interest in Functional safety to drive and support development in different projects within the area. To build up safety systems, which is to meet one of the core values of Volvo CE, there are many challenges to design and implement proper functional safety system. You will contribute with technical expertise to build concepts and solutions to secure the functional safety aspects. This requires identifying what the required safety functions are, assessment of the risk-reduction required by the safety function, ensuring the safety function performs to the design intent, verification, and providing proper documentation.
System Engineer with focus on Security by design within the Product Cyber Security area - You will be part of a team for Embedded system platform development were your expertise are in the area of product cybersecurity, meaning to prevent that no deliberate harm is caused.
You contribute with technical concepts and solutions to mitigate cybersecurity risks and to fulfil the requirements. This requires performing threat analysis and risk assessment in the context of electrical and/or electronic systems of our current and future products. Our cybersecurity specialists and experts within Volvo group will guide you in understanding and performing the relevant activities.
System Architect
Your role will include mixed responsibilities between system engineering and technical project management. You will work closely with your colleagues in the team to solve our most complex embedded systems related challenges and you will be one of the main point of contact for our collaboration within the Volvo Group.
You will bring value working cross functionally with people with complementary skills, and actively contribute to the technical roadmap. You will use a holistic approach and have a direct impact on complex technical decisions related to architecture engineering and design, and will contribute to the rapid, high-quality development of the electronic platform.
With your extensive engineering experience, your focus will be on the architecture of embedded systems, designing and developing engineered solutions with a systems thinking mindset.

Required qualifications
Relevant academic background, e.g. M.Sc or B.Sc in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or equivalent technical field of study.
You are fluent in English, both written and spoken, and you either speak Swedish or you are eager to learn the new language
Beneficial qualifications
Experience of working with electrical and/or electronic system in the automotive industry
Good understanding of robust and reliable system/software engineering/design principles
