Axis is now looking for an Embedded Developer to join our Camera Accessories team at the New Video Products department within our R&D organization.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?
The Accessories team develops cameras for specific applications based on our standard cameras. As a software engineer in the Accessories team you will be responsible for modifications and additions to the camera software, from the early specification phase to the final release of the software.
In addition to this the team is responsible for development of software drivers for the camera to be able to control external accessories, like Pan-Tilt heads, environmental control in housings, controlling external light sources etc.
Your main tasks will be to:
• Specify and define new features.
• Develop software modules controlling external accessory products.
• Adapting GUI and other parts of the camera software for new
functionality.
• Manage releases and configuration control of the camera software.
• Perform unit testing of new modules.
• Integrating the new camera software into our firmware platform.
• Participate in software QA and perform debugging of encountered issues.
Some of our accessories are sourced from external partners. In cases where the project includes software development you will be supporting the project manager in managing the supplier.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We believe you have a genuine interest in programming and a bachelor's or a master's degree in computer science, electrical engineering or similar. You have experience from C-programming in a Linux environment.
Furthermore, we think you are a creative, open-minded and result-oriented person that can work well on your own and in a team. As the role involves much communication with other teams within Axis as well as with external suppliers, it is important that your communication and listening skills are excellent and that you have a strong sense of responsibility. Your English is fluent, both written and verbal.
In addition to the above, experience from some of the following areas is desirable:
• Development of embedded systems
• Debugging and configuration management tools
• Photography, optics, and image sensor technology
• Low-level programming, device drivers, etc.
• Electronics and computer hardware design
THE NEW VIDEO PRODUCTS DEPARTMENT
The New Video Products department develops new network video products and accessories from idea to mass production using Axis technology platforms. We are about 80 employees in the department divided in six teams with focus on different product areas. Our goal is to efficiently run product development projects and deliver products to the market with high quality to strengthen Axis' market leading position. The Camera Accessory team within New Video Products is responsible for the development and insourcing of products that complements Axis' range of network cameras and encoders.
