On behalf of a client in Södertälje we are currently looking for an electrophysiologist for a longer temporary assignment. The assignment is full-time and will start as soon as possible.

Publiceringsdatum2012-01-25Dina arbetsuppgifterIn this role, the focus is on supporting ongoing pre-clinical research projects by working with various electrophysiological techniques, including automated electrophysiology platform technologies. Your responsibilities will include:
• to work independently to contribute to the design (assay development and validation) of experimental procedures
• running in-vitro pharmacology screening models for drug discovery projects (including automation and management of compound logistics)
• to analyze and interpret experimental data (including data from large screening data sets) and independently plan and carry out further experiments
• to proactively identify and solve problems associated with experiments and model systems.
Prior experience with in vitro patch-clamp electrophysiology is a plus, as well as an understanding of electrophysiological principles and ion channel biology. Perhaps, you have experience of working with automated electrophysiology platforms (IonWorks, PatchXpress, Qpatch, etc). Furthermore, an understanding of pharmacological parameters and assay design, automation and liquid handling systems is a plus.
Utbildning/erfarenhet
Ideally you have a PhD and some years' experience in the described electrophysiology field, preferably in the drug discovery industry even if academic/post doctoral backgrounds are also relevant. Similar practical/theoretical backgrounds are also of interest. You should be result-oriented with a high scientific standard in combination with a focus on delivery. In this role you will collaborate with colleagues from other (mainly internal) disciplines, sites and research areas to discuss and share experiences and report progress. Therefore we expect you to have a positive can-do attitude, excellent communication skills and possess the ability to contribute to a positive team environment. Furthermore you should be up for changing environment and activities, shown by ease to take on new laboratory assignments. The ability to communicate in English is required.
