Cobolt AB is at the very forefront of the industry in the development and manufacture of high-performance CW and Q-switched lasers. The company is committed to supplying high performance and innovative lasers that meet or exceed the market's expectations concerning quality, reliability, and robustness. Cobolt are now further expanding the R&D department and are therefore looking for a skilled Software Engineer to complement their talented team of engineers.
As a Software Engineer at Cobolt you will work in close collaboration with firmware, electrical, mechanical and laser engineers developing lasers and laser integration software for various platforms. The platforms range all the way from desktop computers down to embedded firmware thanks to our layered C++ architecture. They see an expansion both towards richer system integrations demanding new applications and user interfaces, and continued improvement and expansion of Cobolts product lines.
You will be part of developing Cobolts agile yet structured and modular software that affect their ground-breaking products in collaboration with the team of excellent engineers.
Your skills
We believe that you are a structured person who, accepts coding structure, enjoy designing user friendly interfaces in code and/or graphical, and foremost enjoys working in teams and communicating with others. We also believe that you:
• Have a BSc or MSc degree in software engineering, or similar
• Have a strong knowledge in C++
• Have applications programming knowledge using QT or similar libraries
• Are used to cross platform development (various C++ version and compilers for embedded / Linux / Windows)
• Are fluent in English
Also, knowledge in MATLAB / Python / Java / C# is meritorious.

Cobolt AB was founded in 2000 and is a spin-off from a research project at KTH. Today Cobolt AB now belongs to the HÜBNER Photonics Group and the research department here consists of 13 persons working within CAD, laser-, software- and electronic engineering. As an employer, we provide the perfect combination of working in an intellectually stimulating agile environment, in a team with complementing skills on a high level that enables us to take on challenging tasks and deliver. Our production and development are based in Solna, with 1000m2 of cleanroom for production.
