GTP is located in 52 sites around the world, has 1 300 employees and a yearly spend of 120 BSEK. We have 2,550 suppliers in serial production that deliver 1.9 billion parts to Group Truck plants annually.

Vehicle Electrical & Electronics Europe being the Strategic steering line for these Purchasing activities within GTP, organizes a strong collaboration within teams spread across different sites/regions. We are also the operational line responsible for Electrical & Electronics Europe business all along the purchasing process (sourcing/projects/operations/revenue service parts). The team is responsible to drive end to end Purchasing activities whilst securing QDCF-TSR (Quality, Delivery, Cost, Feature, Technology, Sustainability and Risk Management) targets.

The Vehicle Automation arena is an extremely dynamic one with new players arising every day, from the traditional automotive ones to the software based start-ups. The Purchasing function needs to be on top of this game by scouting and selecting new partners worldwide, capturing innovation that will bring value to our customers and developing new ways of working both with partners and with our internal stakeholders. .

Mission

As Electronics Expert Senior Buyer, you will identify the most critical cost and productivity initiatives for existing and new products, and help Electrical and Electronics teams identify collaboration/negotiation points with suppliers, thereby supporting productivity and cost targets.

Reporting To: Manager Automation Purchasing

Location: Gothenburg, Sweden.

Main Responsibilities
To contribute to the Segment Business Plan and be an active member of the Commodity Buyer network
Support the Electrical and Electronics Purchasing Managers to meet Annual Goals Objectives
Provide support to hardware design engineers to perform new component search and provide guidance in selecting components.
Responsible for achieving savings through the continuous benchmarking of different components and of different productive solutions while maintaining the same level of quality perceived by the customer.
Initiate supplier assessments to focus on "should-cost" analysis, purchasing/cost management.
To secure that supplier selections are aligned with the Segment Business Plan
To negotiate and secure implementation of agreements with suppliers
Drive all relevant activities to deliver on QDCFTSR targets
Monitor, identify and mitigate risks in cooperation with SQ&D, Finance, Logistics, Engineering teams
Actively contribute to the team development by bringing improvement ideas, support your peers and sharing good cases and learnings
Monitor electronic component industry trends and recommend preferred component selections per the technology and supplier changes in the industry

Competence & Experience
Experience in working with electronic component part numbering and database systems
Work with a high level of accuracy and attention to details to produce quality results
Multi-task effectively and adapt within a rapidly changing environment.
Direct experience with "clean sheet" or should-cost based negotiations and agile teams
Ability to comprehend, evaluate, and compare electronic component specifications (memory storage technologies, WiFi/BT technologies, embedded microprocessor circuitry, etc.)
Prior experience performing product comparisons / analysis of automotive diagnostic accessory products from 3rd party manufacturers
Provide support to hardware design engineers to perform new component search and provide guidance in selecting components
Familiarity with Schematics and circuit card fabrication and assemblies required, and Electronic component suppliers, industry and market drivers.
