You will work with the development of the next generation of the MC400 electronic unit that is central for ABB:s world leading line of force sensors for the process industry. This electronic unit is tailor made especially for ABB:s Pressductor technology and the design of the unit is essential for the performance of the entire measurement system.
The work involves redesign of the digital parts of the electronic unit where new state-of-the-art solutions will be used including SOC-components where FPGA and CPU:s are combined in the same circuit. It also involves a review of the analog parts and addition of new communication circuits. As a development engineer you will follow the design through the entire development life cycle. This means that you will take part of the design work, testing of prototypes, industrialization and verification of the final solution.
You will be a part of ABB Measurement and Analytics in Västerås, which is a division within the business area Process Automation. We develop and provide a comprehensive range of measurement and analytics products designed to improve control, productivity and quality in a wide variety of processes and industries. Our unique measuring principles are well suited for harsh environments which has resulted in a long track record of satisfied customers. We are world leading within these business areas with a large market share over the world.

The role is located in Västerås and you will be reporting to the R&D Manager for Controller Development.
Your responsibilities
Take an important role in development of the next generation of creative technical products as they are improved for future requirements.
Be involved in the whole process from ideas and specification to test including design, introduction to production lines and support to our customers.
Obtaining deep insights into how our products are used and influence and take responsibility in the development of our products.

Your background
A Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics or equivalent.
Experience of development and design of electronics for industrial environment using modern development tools.
Experience of design with FPGA:s using VHDL is a bonus.
Experience of high speed electronics in the RF-range is a strong bonus.
Good ability to apply theoretical knowledge to problem solving and turn that into customer benefits.
You are a team player who takes responsibility of your work and is committed to company vision and agreed goals.
As a person, you have a positive outlook and enjoy being a part of a team.
Good communication skills in English, written and spoken alike, is a requirement. Knowledge in Swedish is a bonus.
