The group Electronics Maintenance is part of the section Maintenance, Investments & Metrology and has two different responsibilities:
* to provide the test labs within Research & Development with corrective and preventive maintenance within the electrical and computing field.
* To design and manufacture equipment (prototypes and cables) for the testbeds and the test cars
The group provide support for about 1500 test cars and 300 different test beds. Today our team consists of 30 colleagues, where ten of them are consultants. We are now looking for an Electronics Designer
As an Electronics Designer, you are responsible for Electronics construction and design of testbeds equipment to internal customers at Volvo Cars. Your customers if often the development projects. You will solve complex technical issues, from need to prototype to final solution (including soldering).
Your technical competence should be strong so that you can make your own decisions and technical conclusions. Your mindset should be visionary and with an aim of finding solutions.
You will also handle assignments that are to be outsourced (specify procurement documents, order and follow up when delivered). We have predefined sourcing partners that we work with.
Main responsibilities
* Electronics construction
* Design of equipment for testbeds and testcars
* CAD production of circuit diagrams and printed circuit boards
* Programming of circuits and circuit boards
* Building prototypes
* Repair and maintenance of instruments/equipment/wiring
Required qualification
* Bachelor of Science in Electronics, Mechatronics or Programming
* Experience of programming in C/Arduino
* Experience (or strong interest)of developing vehicles
* Excerience/Interest of electric vehicles
* Fluent in the Swedish and English languages
Personal qualities
* Good practical skills
* Service minded team player
* Organised and structured in your daily work
* Ability to document your work
