Electronics Component Engineer

Description

The increasing amount of own-developed, externally developed and procured electronic products requires experienced competence in PCB components and continuous supervision of the status of components essential to our electronic products.

The main objectives for this role are to preventively supervise the status of our component libraryto ensure proactive control of obsolescence risks, to perform DfE (Design for Environment) analyses with respect to prohibited and restricted substances, and to support with reliability analyses. Within this also lies the responsibility to evaluate alternative components.

It is also a key objective of the component engineer to interact with and monitor the performance of our electronics manufacturing services (EMS) suppliers, especially with respect to their component qualification criteria, soldering and assembly processes. Part of the job is also the interaction with our component suppliers.

The component engineer supports our projects with analyses of compliance to norms, standards and laws.

Central tools are the component database and approved manufacturers list (AML).

The selected candidate will be welcomed to a team with various backgrounds and great experience.

Qualifications

As our preferred candidate you have:

• Bachelor or Master of Engineering, Electronics or similar

• experience of working with data sheets

• experience of analogue and digital electronic design

• understanding of standards

• knowledge of Reliability calculations (MTBF) (desirable but not required)

• fluency in English is required. Swedish is a plus.
