Electronic Systems Engineer (MBSE)

Position Description

Do you have a great interest and like to work with system engineering for electronic systems in automotive industry using MBSE (model Based System Engineering)?

We develop new systems, architectures, and concepts with focus on electrical and electronics systems. As a Systems Design Engineer you will contribute to all stages of product development, from early phase pre-studies, system architecture and functions development. You will work with stakeholders from various technology teams, component owners, internal and external solution providers, and product owners to identify design concepts that will best meet our customer's needs.

Embedded Electronic Systems (EES) Architecture is a function within Volvo CE's Technology organization.
We develop and provide Volvo CE machines with Base EE system platforms used as the foundation and enabler for all electronic controlled functions and features to support connectivity, service solutions, autonomous functions, electromobility as well as machine operational functions. We are responsible to drive, develop and maintain our Electronic Architecture platform commonly used by all machines within Volvo CE.

When working within EES Architecture team, the collaboration within Volvo CE and Volvo Group to develop common solutions, gives an extensive network with colleagues from all cultures and areas. What will you be doing?

You will work with development of our Base EE system platform using MBSE (Model Based System Engineering) methodology.
System design using SYSML / Modelling tools like Enterprise Architect
Develop and maintain models using modeling languages
Describe stakeholder needs, requirements and use cases
Model the functions in the modelling environment
Model the system architecture in the modelling environment
Model and organize requirements in requirement environment
Establish traceability within and across requirements and system model
Reviews system engineering documentation to ensure specifications meet system needs and are accurate.
Participates in project/program technical risk analysis and mitigation.
Analyzes and evaluates systems using MBSE artifacts.
Participates in system requirements reviews and creates/updates requirements specifications and technical documentation.
Conducts performance analysis of systems and subsystems.

We also believe you have:
Relevant academic background, e.g. Bachelor and/or master's degree
Good communication skill in English, proficiency in Swedish is desirable
Knowledge within Systems engineering
Knowledge and experience of working with embedded electronic systems
Experience with model-based system engineering tools
Desire and curiosity to perform and develop in Agile way of working & SAFe
Great interest and curiosity in the area and willingness to challenge yourself and learn.
