Who are we at Powertrain Purchasing?
Powertrain Purchasing is a global organization within GTP representing a yearly purchased spend of 21 BSEK, the team is responsible for Base Engine, Casting & Forging, Combustion, Electromobility, Vendor and Axles & Transmission. The team is responsible to drive end to end Purchasing activities whilst securing QDCF-TSR (Quality, Delivery, Cost, Feature, Technology, Sustainability and Risk Management) targets.

About Electromobility, we are building the team, strengthening the cooperation and tightening the coordination for all main purchasing decisions (sourcing, project) at Volvo Group level. The Electromobility Synergy Manager is therefore a new function in GTP with the intention to coordinate all Purchasing activities across the Volvo Group.

Your mission as Electromobility Synergy Manager
As Electromobility Synergy Manager, you drive the overall agenda of the Electromobility Purchasing organization. You will lead in your area of scope, and secure the implementation, usage and continuous improvements of global ways of working in full alignment with each of the Electromobility Purchasing teams.

This is a truly cross-functional role across the Volvo Group, involving all truck brands, BAs and the GTx community. The challenge is to support the Volvo group in reaching cost competitive solutions as well as identifying potential enablers for scaling up the electromobility volume. This can be related to customer acceptance, charging, TCO and understanding new technologies, as well as our internal capabilities to produce, procure and develop cost efficient and competitive electromobility solutions. The electromobility product work stream is to be managed in an agile way.

Main Responsibilities
Drive the Purchasing Electromobilty agenda and steer the Purchasing Electromobility journey
Track the major milestones and project deliverables of Electromobility at Volvo Group level
Identify Purchasing opportunities for collaboration, drive synergies, identify roadblocks and drive strategic investigations in Electromobility area
Lead the various management coordination activities for Electromobility Purchasing
Contribute in an active way to the development of the GTP Electromobility department
Prepare and lead the Electromobility Board Purchasing contribution with buyers and Purchasing Management (items like strategies, commercial roadmaps, project portfolio and supplier selection)
Work with continuous improvements in Electromobility Purchasing
Work in accordance with the Volvo processes, the Code of Conduct and the Volvo Values

Competence & Experience
University degree in Engineering/technology and/or Business Administration
Strong Leadership skills
Communicate effectively by using modern methods and be able to influence a variety of stakeholders including senior leadership
Knowledgeable in current and future business trends, technology and markets
Able to execute in a global organization
Face problems and act quickly and directly. Provide direct & actionable feedback
Able to handle uncertainty and the unexpected. Holds things together during tough times
Take good decisions in line with internal stakeholders, with risks and opportunities and alternative solutions in mind
You are able to handle and lead cross-functional activities without owning the resources in a fast-moving environment
With respect of the decided governance and processes, the ESM has the authorities to act to fulfill the above described tasks and responsibilities
