Description of main work tasks

The initial main responsibilities would be to:
• Setting up and improving experimental setups for loudspeaker characterization, with a focus on their nonlinear properties
• Together with team members, research and develop methods for compensating for the nonlinear loudspeaker behavior.

We are looking for a research engineer to join our team; one who enjoys working both theoretically and experimentally with nonlinear behavior of loudspeakers, how it affects the sound quality, and has ideas of how to compensate for the nonlinear effects to improve the sound quality.
The successful candidate loves challenging projects and possess excellent analytical ability that you apply to the development of nonlinear compensation methods. In addition to your technical expertise, you bring strong social and communicative skills to our team.

Qualifications
• Experience with experimental equipment for characterization of nonlinear effects in loudspeakers and compensation of these effects
• Experience with numerical methods and software for electroacoustic transducers
• Knowledge in psychoacoustics
• Knowledge in audio signal processing is necessary, knowledge in DSP programming would be an advantage.
• Programming skills in Matlab are necessary; skills in C++ and/or C would be an advantage.
• Excellent oral and written English skills are a prerequisite.

Varaktighet, arbetstid
The position is permanent with six months initial probationary period. Your work place will be situated in Uppsala, Sweden. The position is to be filled as soon as possible.
