RISE is Sweden's research institute and innovation partner. Through our international collaboration programmes with academia, industry, and the public sector, we ensure the competitiveness of the Swedish business community on an international level and contribute to a sustainable society. Our 2,200 employees support and promote all manner of innovative processes, and our roughly 100 testbeds and demonstration facilities are instrumental in developing the future-proofing of products, technologies, and services. RISE Research Institutes of Sweden is fully owned by the Swedish state.

RISE works in a series of projects in which economics, policies and technologies for the future electric power system are analyzed. The interaction between technology and the design and development of the electricity market is central to these projects, , which means that a combination of technical and economical competence is needed. Due to the growing interest for services and research in this area, we see a need to recruit a person with skills in economics who has an understanding for the technical challenges of the future power system.

Profile

We are looking for a senior analyst/researcher with the ability to carry out analyses on business opportunities and market design in combination with technical analyses. You contribute throughout the entire project chain from idea creation to execution and dissemination of results. You are expected to participate in the analysis during the implementation of the projects, and because these are sometimes quantitative, the applicant should be comfortable working with quantitative methods. The applicant should have work experience, preferably from project-oriented activities, and you are expected to have the ability to coordinate and lead projects. We regard the following competence areas as central to this recruitment, and applicants should have experience from at least two of these:

* Electricity markets, trading or regulation of grid operators.
* Quantitative methods and/or model implementation/programming.
* Project management and coordination.

The applicants are expected to have a degree at a master's level or higher, in combination with at least 5 years of work experience. Appropriate educational backgrounds may include economics, finance, industrial engineering and management, engineering physics or applied mathematics. Documented experience from the electricity market or grid regulation area is highly valuable. Research experience and doctoral studies are beneficial. Applicants with a technical background should be able to demonstrate their competence in economics, and applicants with a background in economics/finance should be able to demonstrate an understanding of the technical characteristics of electrical power systems.

As a person, you are proactive, creative and open to new challenges. The ability to independently lead processes and projects is considered central to this position. The work will involve a large amount of contacts with external project partners and customers, and the applicant should therefore have strong communicative skills. The work in the energy and electricity market area is mainly carried out from the Gothenburg office. Other locations, such as Stockholm or Lund, may also be possible depending on the applicant's qualifications and personal qualities.
