hela Sverige The Machine Directorate at the European Spallation Source (ESS) in Lund, Sweden, invites applications for an Electrical Technician.
Job description and responsibilities
The ESS Accelerator Plant consists of a number of high power radio frequency sources, control systems, instrumentation and vacuum systems. This equipment is powered from electrical substations located along the accelerator buildings. Some of the equipment will be supplied from central UPS power supplies. The Accelerator project needs two Industrial Electricians ("Industrielektriker") to assist with the installation work planned for the accellerator. The candidate will initially be working with coordination and supervision of: installation, commissioning, inspection and testing of switchgear, electrical systems, process control equipment and cabling for the ESS Accelerator Plant. When the accelerator becomes operational, the roles will change towards maintenance and operation of the accelerator electrical systems. The candidate will be expected to be able to perform smaller tasks such as isolation and disconnection of electrical equipment, termination of cables, fault-finding, replacing faulty components, installation of equipment and documentation of the work performed. The majority of the installation work will be performed by contractors hired by the ESS and with "in-kind partners", European laboratories providing people to the ESS project.
In the later period of the project it will be required to be available on-call.
Qualifications
Good language and interpersonal skills are needed.The candidate should be able to work independently and as part of a team. Documented work experience with the above mentioned tasks at process industry or equal industrial sites for at least 5 years is required/desired. Experience in developing and/or maintaining maintenance plans for electrical systems is a merit. The candidate must be an "Electrical technician" with the minimum authorization of BB1 according to the Swedish National Electrical Safety Board.

Duration & Location
The position is permanent with six months initial probationary period. Your work place will be situated in Lund, Sweden. The position is to be filled as soon as possible.
