You can be experienced as power engineer or you can be straight out of the university, as we need both.
With us at HVDC (High-Voltage Direct Current) in Ludvika, you will be a part of the world’s leading competence centre within power technology.
Do you have a Bachelor or Master in Engineering and your eye on power solutions? If so, we have many interesting challenges for you. You will grow professionally by the tight collaboration with your colleagues – who are specialists, generalists and world leaders within power technology.
Our promise is also a wide span in the work as engineer with HVDC – working with Ludvika and the world as your field of operation. The dynamics within this technological field will, for instance, provide you with the opportunity to work with anything from development and construction to commissioning of HVDC-stations around the globe. Our task is to develop and create energy efficient power transmissions and in this work, you as an individual engineer can expect large personal responsibility. You will collaborate with engineers in various technological fields and cultures as we perform projects in all parts of the world.
The requirements:
You are Bachelor of Science or Master of Science focussing on and interested in power solutions. And you can either have some years’ experience, be relatively newly examined or are on your way to finishing your education.
As the main parts of our deliveries are performed outside of Sweden, some of the positions demand that you are able to travel in your work – sometimes at short notice. It is essential that you have a very good understanding of English, both spoken and written. Further knowledge of languages – such as French, Spanish, German or Chinese – is qualifying. It is important that you can work independently, have a strong inner drive and the capacity to shoulder responsibility, as the position will provide you with large freedom and responsibilities.
Power Systems, HVDC- Ludvika works with the technology HVDC (high-voltage direct current). Classic HVDC has been on the market for over 50 years and is used to transmit electrical power over long distances at low power loss through overhead transmission lines or submarine cables. HVDC Light® has existed for 10 yeas and is used to transmit electrical power primarily through underground and submarine cable in applications such as sea based wind power and power supply of platforms. High voltage direct current is also used to interconnect separate power systems, where traditional alternating current (AC) connections can not be used. Read more about this frontline technology
