hela Sverige European Spallation Source (ESS) in Lund, Sweden, invites applications for an Electrical Integration Engineer to the Neutron Scattering Systems (NSS) Project.
Description of the project
The NSS Project is managed by the ESS Science Directorate to build the neutron beam facility at the ESS. The scope of the project includes the design and construction of 15 neutron scattering instruments, the neutron transport systems and shielding, and the integration of all systems into an operable neutron science facility.
Main responsibilities
The Electrical Integration Engineer will be a member of the NSS Project Division, reporting directly to the NSS Project Leader. You will work directly with relevant stakeholders to implement the electrical infrastructure for NSS instruments. As main NSS contact person for electrical infrastructure you will be interfacing ESS internal groups and external instruments design teams of the in-kind partners, as well as to ESH for electrical safety and quality.
The primary responsibility of the position will be the definition, design, installation, commissioning and documentation of electrical and grounding infrastructure as well as electrical machine safety of NSS instruments. This includes the compilation of standards documents, the coordination and supervision of related design works, tendering and installation and the review of related mechanical and electrical design work of instruments teams.
Qualifications
• Engineers degree in Electrical Engineering or related
• Minimum 10y experience in:
• Design and documentation of LV power distributions and grounding installations in EMC sensitive areas (medicine, nuclear, science, military etc.)
• Defining and leading project work packages with definition of tasks and Interfaces
• Writing and compiling strategic concept & design documents, interface documents and components standardisation documents
• Supervising installation and commissioning incl. test, certification + handover
• Experience in machine safety (EU machine directive + CE) including electrical safety certifications (risk analysis, reports etc.)
• Proficient in project planning tools like MS Project
• Experience of working in an international environment is essential
• Excellent oral and written English skills are a prerequisite
• Previous experience in instrumentation in radiation facilities (Neutron Sources, Synchrotrons, Particle Physics Experiments etc.) will be an asset

Duration & Location
The position is permanent with six months initial probationary period. Your work place will be situated in Lund, Sweden. The position is to be filled as soon as possible.
