The units work on projects ranging from development to production management and delivery of complete vehicles, both for the Swedish market and for export, development and production of propulsion and control systems, service, maintenance and complete traffic systems.
Our division Propulsion & Controls (PPC) is responsible for delivering propulsion and control systems in the front edge of technology to a worldwide market. Our systems are the heart, the brain and the muscles of the train.
For this division, we are currently looking to recruit a Traction Motor Electrical Engineer!
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
As our electrical engineer you will work closely with other functions within Bombardier in order to design the traction motor electrically that shall fulfil customer performance requirements as part of an optimized propulsion system.
You will take part in the engineering team designing the propulsion system in order projects towards end customers as well as bid related work (choice of motor, thermal simulations etc) and product development projects.
In smaller projects you may also act as drives functional lead. The responsibility for a functional lead is, besides the engineering tasks, to plan, manage and report progress of the drives part of the project.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Perform performance and thermal simulations
• Write design specifications
• Perform bid work
• Be part in different product development projects
• Specify tests
• Take part in testing activities
• Write type test reports
Qualifications:
A general interest in technology. In this role you will gain an in-depth knowledge of the product including functionality and product data.
• Master?s or higher degree in electrical engineering, electrical drives systems or power systems.
• Fluent in English.
• Relevant work experience is considered but not required.
• Willingness to travel occasionally (business trips are expected in order to meet with suppliers and customers).
• It would be beneficial if you have:
• Experience in design of induction motors.
• Experience in FEM electromagnetic simulation tools.
• Experience of testing.
• Experience in analytical of finite element thermal calculations.
• Swedish language knowledge or willingness to learn.
