ESS is now building the brightest neutron source in the world, located in the southern part of Sweden and will deliver first science by 2023. We are now looking for an electrical engineer that can support with specification and design of cable raceway systems and integration activities across the ESS facility.

The Machine Directorate at the European Spallation Source (ESS) in Lund, Sweden, invites applications for an Electrical Engineer to join the central engineering team within the engineering and integration support division. The Engineering and Integration support division is the central technical division within ESS providing technical services across the ESS organization.

Job description

Your main areas of responsibilities as an electrical engineer will be to support with design of cable raceway systems, cable coordination and integration activities across the ESS facility:

• Act as a design lead for design packages.
• Design cable raceway systems systems/components and develop documentation and specifications for procurement, installation and operation.
• Support with coordination and routing of cables.
• Support with review of designs performed internally and/or by external collaborators.
• Assist with planning and preparation of installation activities.
• Develop specifications and plans for test and inspection of systems.
• Provide support to contractors and technicians during fabrication, installation, test and operations.

Qualifications:

We think that you have relevant education within the field of electrical engineering or a combination of education and relevant experience for the position. We also think that you have experience from electrical engineering from similar research facilities or from the energy or process industry sector. You should have experience from similar tasks preparing drawings and specifications and have an understanding of maintenance requirements for industrial process equipment and systems. Good oral and written English skills is a prerequisite in order to perform well in this position. Experience from using Aveva E3D for design of cable raceway systems is a prerequisite.

You are able to work independently and as part of a group and you use your great communication skills to compile information and communicate in reports or meetings. You will need your ability to plan and organize your work to meet schedule and performance requirements.

Duration & Location
The position is a two years fixed term position with possibility of a one year extension. Your work place will be situated in Lund, Sweden.

Start date
The position is to be filled as soon as possible and selection is made continuously.
