Due to our continued growth, we are now recruiting for a Automotive Electrical Design Engineer within PCBA to strengthen our team in Gothenburg.
The role
We are seeking a skilled PCBA Design Engineer with a strong background in High Voltage (HV) and Low Voltage (LV) PCBA design for automotive applications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Altium Designer, solid knowledge of PCB manufacturing processes, and experience in signal and power integrity simulation (SI/PI) using tools such as ANSYS.
Responsibilities
Design and develop HV and LV PCBAs for automotive electronic systems in compliance with automotive standards and safety requirements.
Create and maintain schematics, footprints, and component libraries in Altium Designer.
Define and implement PCB stack-up designs based on electrical, thermal, and mechanical constraints.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (hardware, mechanical, manufacturing) to optimize board layout for performance, cost, and manufacturability.
Conduct signal integrity (SI) and power integrity (PI) simulations using ANSYS or similar tools.
Support DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFT (Design for Test) activities and work closely with manufacturing partners during prototype and production builds.
Review and release design documentation including Gerber files, BOMs, and assembly drawings.
Ensure compliance with automotive standards such as AEC-Q100/Q200, ISO 26262, etc.

Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
5+ years of experience in PCBA design with a focus on automotive applications.
Proficient in Altium Designer for schematic capture, layout, and library management.
Hands-on experience in designing HV and LV automotive PCBAs.
Strong knowledge of PCB stack-up design, impedance control, and thermal management.
Experience with PCBA simulation tools such as ANSYS SIwave, HFSS, or similar for SI/PI analysis.
Understanding of PCBA manufacturing processes, including material selection, panelization, soldering techniques, etc.
Familiarity with automotive EMC/EMI compliance and functional safety is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications
Exposure to vehicle ECU design or similar automotive electronic modules.
Experience with hardware validation, lab tools (oscilloscopes, power analyzers, etc.).
Familiarity with ISO 26262 functional safety concepts.
Knowledge of other ECAD tools (e.g., Mentor Graphics, Allegro) is a plus.
