Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.To become one of the biggest and most profitable Truck manufacturers in Asia, Scania and Traton are increasing our presence in the Chinese markets by a new production plant as well as building local R&D capabilities. The R&D organisation is in the build-up phase right now.

The organisation started initially in Södertälje but currently scaling up and expanding in China. We work in an agile landscape where designers, production, and purchaser work closely.

Your work assignment
As a Teacher you will be responsible for the onboarding needed, that means you have an important role, to educate our designers and engineers in the core systems we have such as CAD/vPDM and OAS. Our R&D designers, engineers and developers within the IO Asia have an important job and that is to develop the best products in the market, and your role as a teacher will enable that to happen, with your way of teaching and onboarding them in the right methods required.

We will give you the opportunity to have training courses from Scania Education team before you teach other, but still a very strong merit if you have been working as a designer/engineer in the systems as a former experience.

Your responsibilities will be:

• Cooperate with the Global Training Organization (Scania Academy), Scania China R&D, for design and training needs.
• Conduct local training needs assessments and identifies skills or knowledge gaps that need to be addressed.
• Design and develop required local training programs (training programs to meet the local conditions) with respect to the global training and development framework.
• Build annual training programs and prepare teaching plans for local R&D employees
• Train/Educate local R&D employees according to R&D needed and system structure status
• Set up and educate local technical specialists, (Train the Trainer), which are certified to give system training for Scania China R&D
• Direct structured learning experiences and monitors their (colleagues training) quality results,establish a way of working based on current best practices.
• Maintain/ update curriculum database and training records in training system ( basically MyCompass).

Skills that are needed:

• Solid knowledge of Scania CAD/PDM/OAS, have industrial design system (DS Corp) or manufacturing training experience is preferred
• Good English (in order to understand what we teach them and to talk with us)
• Some technical background (for example engineer, preferably mechanical engineering)
• Some pedagogical background (could be a teacher exam, having worked as a teacher etc)
• An easy and fast learner!
• Have training experience ( merit )

Work location
Work location is in Södertälje but there will be a need for travel for shorter or longer assignments in our new R&D office in China, based on business needs.
