Teacher of Economics and Humanities in the Senior School
Duties/Responsibilities:
The teacher is responsible for the following:
Teaching the I.B. Diploma Programme Economics course to Grade 11 and 12 students.
Teaching the Humanities and Economics to Senior School students (Grade 10).
Contributing to the development and implementation of the Humanities curriculum.
Communicating regularly with parents.
Be an active and contributing member of the Humanities faculty.
Participating in the full range of professional activities in the school.
Actively contributing to the operational needs of the school.
Qualifications, Attributes and Experience
The successful teacher is expected to have:
Teaching qualification.
Experience as a teacher of Economics of the IB Diploma Programme or the equivalent.
Fluency in written and spoken English.
Excellent communication skills.
The ability to establish rapport with adults and students.
A sense of humour.
The ability to work effectively in a team
A pleasant and friendly personality.
The ability to function effectively under pressure.
The ability to show initiative and work independently.
It would be desirable for the successful applicant to have a working knowledge/experience of the IB Diploma Programme or its equivalent.
Experience working with students from diverse cultures and countries would be an advantage.
