We are now looking for a student to take on the assignment" Economic model for profitability of multi manning".
The assignment:
Multi manning, is when a production unit has less machine operators than machines to serve, so the operators must coordinate their effort to keep all machines running. Siemens Industrial Turbomachinery wants an economic model which describes when multi manning is profitable.
Your new role - challenging and future-oriented
The topic of your Master Thesis will be to create a model which shows how production costs and output are affected by different multi manning set-ups, in a production unit with advanced 5-axis CNC-machines.
• Find which technical and organizational prerequisites are needed for multi manning
• Calculate the profitability for a couple of different multi manning scenarios, compared to the base line with one operator per machine.
• Suggest tools to follow up the profitability of multi manning
Your Profile:
• You are a student of Industrial economy, Manufacturing or Mechanical engineering
• Interest in production economy
• Previous knowledge about manufacturing are preferable
• Good communication skills in Swedish and English
