hela Sverige Nasdaq Economic & Statistical Research (ESR) is looking for two new analysts. The team consists of 20 people worldwide - including 10 in the Nordic countries - and is responsible for decision support and business intelligence in all business units including listing, trading and business development.
NASDAQ OMX lists more than 3,500 companies globally with a value of $ 6 100 billion. Our global platform is capable of handling more than 1 million messages / second with an average latency of less than 100 milliseconds. Globalization and European regulation has opened up for competition in the equities listing and trading landscape. Companies can today choose to list not only in Europe but also in the U.S. and increasingly also in Asia and MTFs such as Chi-X has quickly become the large marketplaces for continuous equities trading.
In the role as analyst you are expected to become an expert in several areas supporting all our business areas: Listing Capital Markets, Transaction Services, Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives and Commodities. Responsibilities include keeping abreast of market trends, gather and process data and perform both qualitative and quantitative analysis. The group also administers its own internal database, and work daily with much more, such as Level 2 tick data from our own stock exchanges in the Nordic and Baltic countries and the United States.
For this role we are looking for someone with:
• A finance/business and/or engineering academic degree.
• Probably less than 3 years of relevant working experience.
• Background working in a trading environment for cash equities, equity derivatives, fixed income or commodities is meriting.
• Experience working with decision support or with business intelligence tools is meriting.
• Strong knowledge of econometric and/or statistical methods is meriting.
• Experience of handling large quantities of data in R, Qlik or Business Objects is meriting.
We work exclusively with R, Qlik and Business Objects and experience with R is therefore very valuable.
You should also have a passion for the securities market in general, which you demonstrate by following macroeconomic developments, corporate events and you are not afraid to on a project basis immerse yourself in regulations governing the markets. You should also demonstrate a curiosity for statistical methods and data science in general which you demonstrate by an eager to try new tools and suggest potential innovative solutions. We look favorably on CFA Level II candidate or above applicants.

We are looking for someone with strong analytical skills with the ambition to become an expert in several exciting areas of financial markets and our short deadlines place high demands on service mindedness and broad expertise.
The challenges are often very specific, but you should also be able to think in new ways and be curious and interested in finding the unexpected in major trends and data sets. Furthermore, you are positive, enthusiastic and pragmatic and can quickly put a question to a concrete result for demanding customers
