The International School of the Stockholm Region is a publically funded international school which exists primarily to serve the educational needs of the transient and/or international community of Stockholm. The school runs the International Baccalaureate's curricula. The Primary Years Programme (PYP) is offered to students from 5-11 years of age and the Middle Years Programme (MYP) is offered to students from 11-16 and the Diploma Programme (DP) is offered to students from 16-19 years of age. The schools language of instruction is English for all subjects. At ISSR students can receive an internationally-recognized education in English from 5 to 19 years of age in one location in the center of Stockholm.

ISSR needs one or more EAL learning assistants to collaborate with teachers and work with an English-speaking student body in the Primary Years Programme.
The EAL learning assistant should have experience working in a classroom environment as lead or assistant teacher to students (5-12 years of age). The main focus is on supporting students with English as a second language and students with special needs. Experience working with children and the empathy and patience to help children solve both academic and social obstacles is essential.
The learning assistant will work in collaboration with the homeroom teacher to plan and carry out varied instructional levels of the classroom.
Responsibilities:
• Support students in their learning
• Collaborative planning with the homeroom teacher(s)
• Participate in school activities (assemblies, evening events, conferences, etc.)
• Supervise children during breaks
• Pedagogical lunch
Qualifications:
A qualified candidate will be:
• An experienced educator
• At least 2 years of experience working with children in an international school setting
• High level of communication sills (parents, teacher team, students)
• Native English speaker
• Highly competent with IT (Windows platform, Smartboard and other tools for learning).
