Position Description
Do you want to work on developing the ultimate driving experience while maximizing the energy efficiency? Are you knowledgeable about truck applications and how trucks are used in the hands of the customer? Would you like to interact with our field test customers, to test and evaluate new features?
Then take the opportunity to join the exciting journey of creating future solutions for our customers while benefiting from a great work environment characterized by trust, openness, and wellbeing.
We are looking for a Driving Performance Calibration Engineer with passion for teamwork, customers, and the total driving experience.

This is us
Complete Powertrain Calibration is responsible for the Powertrain Driving Experience. This is a balancing act between available power and energy efficiency in every truck application we operate in. A job well done results in a truck that works in harmony with the road topography and curvature yet is pleasant and safe to drive. The job involves interaction with other departments for improving and developing new functionality that requires tuning and calibration over the road. These functions and how they are calibrated, heavily impact the perceived driving experience of the truck.

You will belong to an inclusive team with great spirit and lots of experience. The group of about twelve people consists of:
Function developers supporting us with Powertrain SW functions.
Calibration engineers, calibrating Powertrain functions, mostly in the vehicle.
A driving performance team, responsible for the overall driving experience, where you will be a key player.
A fleet manager that makes sure the test vehicles are updated and prepped for tests and expeditions.
A problem-solving support team that supports our engineers, should there be any Powertrain issues in field test or engineering vehicles.

This is what you will do
Being the voice of the customer, you will be one of two members of the Driving Performance Team, a reference group that provide input to and evaluates Drive Modes, Power Management features, model-based functions such as Cruise Control etc. You will also be responsible for in-vehicle calibration and data setting of Powertrain related functions, primarily related to Powertrain control systems. You will implement and evaluate new functionality through field test units, on expeditions to Spain or Northern Sweden, or simply in Engineering test vehicles around Gothenburg. The work also involves a combination of simulations, evaluation of data and subjective measures.
The role requires a close cooperation with function developers for the development of new functions and features. Representing the customer in new development activities also gives you a good insight in customer features and applications where you will consolidate end user requirements into well working final product functionality.
Perform engine dataset calibrations.
Drive the performance and calibration development, follow verification plans and activities.
Actively work with function developers to improve functionality or create new functions.
Lead a defined area of technical expertise, with high technical complexity.
Provide input to product and system roadmaps.
Manage networking across the organization.
Drive improvements in tools, methods and in the way of working.
Be active in the preparation and execution of validation and verification expeditions.

Who are you?
We believe that you are holding a Master of Science or equivalent technical education with interest in Heavy-Duty vehicles. Experience from truck applications, fleets, embedded SW and calibration work is beneficial. Most of the work is performed in the vehicle. Therefore, a commercial driver's license is a requirement.
You have good communication skills in English, both spoken and written. As a person you are analytical, structured and equipped with planning skills. You enjoy teamwork, contribute with team spirit and like to assume personal responsibility.

What can we offer?
You get to work in direct contact with products and customers. Our global presence will offer you the opportunity to interact with highly committed colleagues from all over the World. Together with skilled and supportive colleagues, you will take on fun and exciting challenges that will make you grow, both professionally and personally.

Does it sound like a great fit for you?
We look forward to receiving your application!
At Powertrain Engineering we are actively working to establish teams that take maximum advantage of the strength inherent in diversity, such as knowledge, experience, age, gender, nationality, etc.
