Force Measurement is a product group within ABB's Industrial Automation division that offers reliable equipment for measuring and control in metal, paper and marine applications. Our products are used in a large variety of different industries and processes where they are measuring mechanical and geometric variables with the aim to improve productivity, control and quality for our worldwide customers.
Tasks:
As a mechanical engineer you will be working closely with our customers in large steel & paper industries, who see us more as a collaboration partner than a supplier. The ambition to deliver high level solutions and develop state of the art products for our market, has put us in front of our competitors.
Your main tasks will be within mechanical design for customized solutions to our end customers. You will be supporting our sales teams, production and suppliers with your knowledge and quality driven personality. The tasks include dimensioning of different mechanical parameters, creating, manufacturing and installation drawings as well as supporting our installed base with your expertise. Our mechanical team consists of seven quality driven and ambitious engineers who will support you in your new roll.
Requirements:
To be suitable for this role you preferably have a degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience from the field. The ability to design for assembly/manufacturing and having the eye for details while seeing the big picture is desirable. It is also very meritorious if you have experience from working with rolling mill or process industry solutions as a mechanical engineer Preferably you have the knowledge of different manufacturing techniques for e.g. grinding and welding or have other material related competences.
On a personal level you are a self going and a reliable team player with a result oriented working style as well as strong communicative and collaborative skills. It is also important that you have the ability to take initiative and lead improvements, are structured and able to work proactively to achieve set goals. We wish you to have a positive attitude and ability to see opportunities and solutions instead of obstacles. Ledarship skills are highly appreciated for this role as there are several career paths within the unit where you will be able to develop and grow.
The role will include traveling to our installed base outside Sweden a couple of times per year. Proficiency in both English and Swedish is a must, written and spoken alike.
