The mission of JIBS is to advance the theory and practice of business, with a specific emphasis on Entrepreneurship, Ownership, and Renewal. Three simple principles guide what we do: International at Heart, Entrepreneurial in Mind and Responsible in Action.
JIBS is a double accredited Business School with EQUIS and AACSB accreditations. JIBS offers a range of Bachelor and Master Programs in Business Administration, Economics, and Informatics. JIBS has 85 faculty members and 14 operations staff, approximately 1.600 full-time students, including international exchange students. JIBS currently has 61 active PhD candidates.
Working tasks
As a PhD student, working full-time, at least 80 per cent of your time is assigned to your doctoral studies.
This includes coursework and writing a doctoral thesis. The remaining time is allocated to teaching and administrative tasks.
Economics is one of the largest disciplines at JIBS and is globally known for excellence in research and teaching and for its strong international profile. The research centers around (i) innovation, entrepreneurship, industrial dynamics and growth, (ii) spatial economics, transportation and international trade, and (iii) corporate governance, firm performance and institutional conditions.
Qualifications
As applicant you should hold a Master's Degree in Economics or have acquired the corresponding knowledge in some other way. We seek candidates who have the ambition to pursue an international research career and wish to combine a high level of scholarship with decision-making relevance. As all teaching is conducted in English you need to be fluent in both written and oral English.
