The mission of JIBS is to advance the theory and practice of business, with a specific emphasis on Entrepreneurship, Ownership, and Renewal. Three simple principles guide what we do: International at Heart, Entrepreneurial in Mind and Responsible in Action.
JIBS is a double accredited Business School with EQUIS and AACSB accreditations. JIBS offers a range of Bachelor and Master Programs in Business Administration, Economics, and Informatics. JIBS has 85 faculty members and 14 operations staff, approximately 1.600 full-time students, including international exchange students. JIBS currently has 61 active PhD candidates.
Working tasks
As a PhD student, working full-time, the major part of your time is devoted to your doctoral studies.
This includes coursework and writing your doctoral thesis. A minor part of your time is devoted to teaching and administrative tasks.
The positions are in the general area of Business Administration, including Accounting, Entrepreneurship, Entrepreneurial Finance, Management, Marketing, Strategy and Supply Chain Management. Qualifications
As applicant you need to have a passed an exam at advanced level (Master) in Business Administration, or equivalent education. You also need to have fulfilled course requirements of at least 240 credit points (ECTS credits), 60 of which should be at the advanced level.
We particularly seek candidates who have the ambition to pursue an international research career and wish to combine a high level of academic scholarship with research that has empirical and practical relevance.
As applicant you need to be fluent in both written and spoken English. As an international business school, we also value skills and experience in other languages and cultures, and it is considered an additional merit for applicants to have prior work experience.

• Your letter of application with a personal description of yourself;
• A letter of intent (your motivation for enrolling in the doctoral program);
• A 3000 word essay on your proposed research topic;
• A lecture outline (including slides) on a teaching topic of your choice (30 minutes in duration);
• Your CV including attested documents (transcript, degree diplomas, evidence of prior teaching and/or industry experience);
• A copy of your Master's Thesis and other publications;
• The names and phone numbers of at least two references.
