hela Sverige At the Faculty of Textiles, Engineering and Business, research and education is conducted within business administration, industrial engineering and management, resource recovery, building technology, as well as within the textile area: design, management and technology. Within the Faculty there are five departments: Department of Design, Department of Business Administration and Textile Management, Department of Engineering, Department of Resource Recovery and Building Technology, and the Department of Textile Technology. There is also a department for the workshop staff.
The Swedish School of Textile as well as its two centres, the Centre for Sustainable Society Development and the Swedish Institute for Innovative Retailing/the Retail Lab, are other important activities within the Faculty. At the Faculty there are also two doctoral education programmes, within Resource Recycling and within Textile and Fashion.
The combustion and thermal process group has been conducting research on material recycling from ash for several years. More recently, a focus has been on phosphorus, mainly from sewage sludge, and how it can be made available after combustion. We are now seeking a doctoral student in resource recovery with a focus on pyrolysis and phosphorus recovery in order to strengthen this area.
Job description
The research project deals with material flows linked to waste management and will be conducted in collaboration with Borås, Varberg and Lidköping. The purpose is to find cost-effective methods for extracting phosphorus through the pyrolysis of sewage sludge.
The doctoral studentship employment focusses 80% of the time on doctoral studies; the remaining time, 20%, includes work at the Faculty of Textiles, Engineering and Business.
Doctoral students are employed according to Higher Education Ordinance Chapter 5. The study period corresponds to a maximum of four years of full-time study. The first employment period covers one year and is normally renewed by one year at a time.
Qualifications
In order to be admitted to the doctoral education programme in Resource Recycling, the student must have a degree at the advanced level with sufficient connection to the doctoral subject of resource recovery. The student must also have knowledge of English corresponding to what is required at the Swedish upper secondary level. The applicant must have documented knowledge in thermodynamics, inorganic chemistry and thermal processes.
It is merit for the employment to have lab experience and experience with equilibrium modelling.
