Örebro University is currently offering research study opportunities on the doctoral programme in Education. For the successful candidate, the programme will conclude with the award of the Degree of Doctor Philosophy in Education. The start date of the programme is in the autumn of 2018 or spring of 2019.

Education is a broad social scientific subject that has its focus on processes of teaching, meaning making, communication, learning and socialisation. Key aspects that can be distinguished among these processes are preconditions, form, content and consequences. Studies are directed specifically toward how people create meaning based on individual, social and institutional perspectives. Didactics, curriculum theory, educational policy, educational history and educational philosophy have a strong presence in the research field of Education at Örebro University. The subject is responsible for an extensive research linked to national and international networks and multi-disciplinary collaborative projects and has a leading role in several graduate schools.
