Welcome to Linnaeus University! A place for knowledge, ideas and development. For growth potential and a belief in the future. In Småland and in the world.

Job description
The Computational Chemistry and Biochemistry Group (CCBG) uses computer modelling and simulations for studies within biomedicine and physical chemistry, including modelling of drug resistance in cancer, macromolecule-ion interactions and simulations of solutions. We seek a highly motivated doctoral student to support our efforts in understanding molecular interactions, applied in particular to protein-drug interactions. The project will involve a significant amount of coding. We offer a rich research environment, competitive salary and access to state-of-the-art computational facilities.

A person fulfils the general entry requirements if he/she has

• Been awarded a degree on second-cycle level in computational, theoretical or physical chemistry or related subjects
• Completed the requirements for courses comprising at least 240 credits, of which 60 credits on second-cycle level, or
• in other way, in Sweden or abroad, has acquired principally equivalent knowledge.

Specific requirements

• Experience in computational or theoretical chemistry or physics
• Fluency in written and oral English
• A solid understanding of quantum mechanics as applied to molecules
• Programming experience
