Doctoral Student in Business Administration, focusing on Media Management
Jönköping International Business School (JIBS) serves regional and global needs by educating entrepreneurial leaders and business creators. JIBS shall be recognized as providing innovative leadership in research, education and service to society within entrepreneurship and business renewal. JIBS has about 220 employees, of which 80 are PhD students, and 2200 students, and it is one of four schools within Jönköping University.
The Media Management and Transformation Centre (MMTC) at JIBS focuses its research on the role media management and transformation play in today's world globally. We are now seeking a doctoral student to undertake doctoral studies focusing on how media companies manage opportunities and challenges arising from the trend towards user-generated contents.
If you have previous experience from the media industries and strong research and teaching interests in management and organizational change, we encourage you to apply. For more information about research at JIBS, please visit www.jibs.se, where you also can read more about our PhD program.
WORKING TASKS/ QUALIFICATIONS
As a doctoral student JIBS offers you full-time employment, where the majority (80%) of your time is devoted to your doctoral studies (mainly consisting of coursework and writing your doctoral thesis). The remaining time is devoted to teaching and administrative tasks. You will also have the opportunity to pursue part of your doctoral education abroad.
Eligible applicants should hold a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Business Administration or other relevant subject areas. We particularly seek students who have the ambition to pursue an international research career and wish to combine a high level of academic scholarship with research that has empirical and practical relevance.
The applicants need to be fluent in both written and spoken English and Swedish. As an international business school, we also value skills and experience in other languages and cultures, and it is considered an additional merit for applicants to have prior work experience from the media industries. For more information regarding the application requirements, please visit our website www.jibs.se/mmtc
