The doctoral position and requirements
The doctoral position requires that the applicant can be admitted to the doctoral program in Human-Machine Interaction. Both general and specific academic entry requirements must be met, see: http://dsv.su.se/en/research/postgrad/
The position involves four years of full-time studies: one year financed by doctoral grant and three years by doctoral studentship. The position may involve admin/teaching duties up to 20% of full time, which gives that the position is prolonged corresponding to the time of admin/ teaching work. The doctoral position requires good English skills
Research studies will be in technology enhanced learning (TEL), in particular students? use of digital media in a school development environment and how digital media influence learning conditions and qualities. The doctorial position is part of a research project on ICT and democracy, incl. knowledge development, practices of communication and language development, and technology support for students.
Selection criteria in judging the applicants are
Knowledge on ICT in relation to one or more of the following areas: learning, knowledge development, multimodality, educational science, democracy issues
Experience of working in school settings, both practical and theoretical. E.g. skills in teaching and experience in school developmental work
Methodological and scientific maturity, especially field studies
Independence in analysing and structuring previous work
Ability to formulate, motivate and address research questions, and cogency in previous work.
Proven ability to adhere to prescribed timetables
Ability to communicate and cooperate well with colleagues and researchers
Documented knowledge from multicultural environments is one qualifying criterion
The applicants will be ranked according to the above criteria. Based on the ranking results, a number of applicants will be contacted. The decision on admission will be made by a departmental committee.
