Poolia in Malmö is, on behalf of one of our customer, looking for an Information scientist. The assignment starts after summer and is approximately for 11 months, but can be extended.
Generally the purpose is to provide frontline scientific information support to the pharmaceutical research community, primarily within the respiratory and inflammation disease areas. This will be done by utilizing a wide range of online published and in-house information resources and analysis tools to assist the clients scientists with the provision of decision ready information.
Publiceringsdatum2009-06-05Dina arbetsuppgifterThe task of this role is to apply expertise in information retrieval and information analysis, scientific knowledge and informatics techniques, combined with an understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and the drug discovery process to solve scientific problems.
Accountabilities:
• provide a comprehensive literature, patent and competitor information management service
• drug discovery project team decision support to determine and satisfy information needs, including commentary and analysis as appropriate and requested
• deliver current awareness alerting services using both online and in-house published information resources and exploiting the available technology to facilitate access and usage of information
• develop expert knowledge of electronic databases and command language of multiple online vendors
• awareness and exploitation of tools used to manage extracted information, post process, and analyze search results.
Utbildning/erfarenhet
Requirements:
• degree level qualification or equivalent in life sciences .ie. biology, pharmacology or chemistry
• experience of information retrieval via online commercial vendors
• experience of analyzing competitor information
• excellent IT skills
• fluent in Swedish and English both in oral and in writing.
I you have at least two years experience of the pharmaceutical industry or similar.
If you have a diploma in Library and Information Science it is an advantage.
We see that you have a strong understanding of informatics - the use of computer and informational techniques, applied to a range of scientific problems and experience of using text analytic and visualization tools.
It is a qualification if you have experience of using text analytic and visualization tools.
You have ability to understand the needs of scientists who are going to use the information and know how to communicate around the subject. You are analytical and have an enquiring mind.
Ability to work independently at the same time that you have strong team working skills.
