At AstraZeneca, we're looking for Precision Medicine Experts - Director level to join our Precision Medicine and Biosamples department in Sweden.

What you'll do
You'll be a member of the Biopharmaceutical Precision Medicine Unit aligned to our Biopharma therapeutic areas. Your objective will be to ensure that complementary & companion diagnostic tests, or equivalent patient segmentation tools, are delivered to drug projects. This will entail implementing the strategy agreed with early and late stage project teams and managing precision medicine activities comprising scientific & technical aspects of test development, test deployment into clinical trials, enabling regulatory & intellectual property strategies and financial tracking.
Providing expert advice on strategic precision medicine approaches and diagnostic development to product teams, you will be instrumental in ensuring that we adopt world-class practice in the field to increase the likelihood of successful drug launch and return on investment. You will explore and bring in new technologies to push the boundaries of diagnostics in and help to establish AstraZeneca as the world leading Precision Medicine Company.
Essential for the role
*
PhD or equivalent experience in a relevant subject
*
Experience in the development of complementary and companion diagnostic tests, or patient segmentation tools, and their implementation in clinical studies
*
Evidence of delivery and experience of precision medicine approaches & diagnostic development, ideally within, Respiratory and Immunology
*
Understanding of the regulatory environment for companion/complimentary diagnostics
*
A deep understanding of the principles of translational medicine and knowledge of Respiratory and Inflammatory diseases
*
Excellent skills in communication, stakeholder influencing, programme management
*
Significant understanding of the multidisciplinary functions involved in diagnostic development
Desirable for the role
*
Experience of developing diagnostic tests, regulatory interactions and test commercialisation
*
Experience in additional TAs (Cardiovascular, Renal and Metabolic diseases)
*
Record of publications and strong external reputation in the precision medicine field

Role can be considered at career levels E or F depending on the experience and suitability of the successful candidate.
