Director Patent Unit DSM

As the Director of the unit DSM (Devise, Service and Media), it is your responsibility to lead the unit with special focus on identifying and developing new IPR business opportunities within non-radio technical areas.

It is also to see to that the products of the unit, such as patents, claim charts and business opportunities, are of the right quality and quantity in the right technical areas and being usable for licensing or divestment at the right time. As the patent unit will cover a large variety of new and developing technical areas, the director of the unit is expected to be interested in these technologies and has an interest in exploring new areas.

Examples of further tasks are:

Internal contact for IPR issues: being responsible for IPR contact with Ericsson Research (ER) Security, ER Machine Intelligence, ER Digital Representation and Interaction, IoT, Ericsson Innovation area, and Ericsson India.
External contact: Being contact for two Swedish patentlaw firms.
Advocacy (optional): actively involved in advocacy work, particularly in Sweden.
Finance: Proposing and following up on the budget of the unit and authorizing invoices from foremost patent suppliers.
Employee Development: Leading the development and feedback process for the members of the unit.
Continuous improvements: leading structured work for continuous improvements in the unit.
Chairing respective patent board meetings and weekly unit meetings.
Patent prosecution: managing your own docket of patent applications. The docket should be around 60 active patent families.

The Director is a member of the Patent Development Leadership Team (PDLT) and would there be included in a subgroup with special focus on some of all strategic issues dealt with by the PDLT.
